Perry Lutheran Homes’ “Project Deliver the Love” is coming up on Thursday, May 2. Volunteer shifts are 1.5 hours from 9AM until 4:30PM. Over 100 volunteers, called #DifferenceMakers, are needed throughout the day. Each volunteer shift will start at Perry Lutheran Homes Eden Acres Campus (1300 28th Street, Perry) to fill baskets/bags with fresh fruit, snacks, activity books, devotionals, encouraging notes, Christ-witness items made by Perry Lutheran Homes residents and Acorns & Oaks Christian daycare children, and more. Then, in pairs or small groups, our volunteers will “deliver the LOVE” to 350 older adults in northern Dallas County!
Here are 3 ways for you to “Deliver the LOVE”
Sign up to volunteer and become a #DifferenceMaker for “Project Deliver the LOVE” on May 2. Your heart will be touched as you make your in-person deliveries to older adults in the community and/or care centers. Volunteers have said how fun, organized, meaningful and rewarding it is. Volunteer as a family, gather a group from church, recruit co-workers, or engage your kids and/or grandkids. Submit names of older adults age 75+ that live in or within 10 miles of Perry that would appreciate a wonderful surprise, a personal visit and delivery full of love. Use the form to submit names and addresses found at the bottom of the Perry Lutheran Homes “Project Deliver the LOVE” webpage at: perrylutheranhomes.org/PDL or you can text “SendLove” to 515-320-8256.
Become a sponsor and/or make a donation to provide life-saving meals, wellness checks and love through Perry Lutheran Homes Meals on Wheels program. Your generous gift will be used to provide over 20,000 meals each year to home-bound older adults in Perry, Minburn, Dallas Center, Granger and Woodward. The costs to prepare, cook, transport and deliver over 20,000 daily meals each year requires additional congregation and community support to continue.
