Share the Love – Make and Take

Make and Take Event
This outreach event is for everyone, a celebration of love, kindness, and connection. It’s been almost 5 years since Covid happened, and many of us have been eagerly awaiting the return of cherished traditions.

One of the things in outreach ministry that has transcended boundary lines & stood the test of time has been the exchange of handmade crafts and gifts in churches, symbolizing hospitality and service.

This beautiful tradition dates to biblical times, reminding us of the Wisemen who brought gifts to baby Jesus and Mary’s selfless love for Jesus when he entered her home.

While the gifts we’ll be making together may not be extravagant, they are truly impactful.

Who can forget the warmth of a friend bringing soup when we’re sick? Or how receiving baked cookies when we’re feeling down feels!? Or how it feels to get a little pampering when we’re struggling & need a little self-care? Or how company during a BBQ? This is the type of tangible impact we’re hoping to create with this event- a feeling of love and compassion, for all involved.

This event is designed to spread love, kindness, and warmth, making everyone feel seen, understood, and loved. It’s designed to invoke these feelings. It’s open to congregation members, community members, and anyone who feels called to attend.

You’re welcome to keep the gifts you make or donate them to someone special or our food pantry. Who can resist the allure of hot chocolate, a delicious barbecue meal, or a warm cookie? And if you haven’t tried sugar scrub during the cold winter months, I highly recommend it.

This event is for everyone, regardless of age or background. We’ve intentionally scheduled it after Valentine’s Day, so people can focus on sharing love and kindness without the commercial pressures.
Our make-and-take event is a celebration of God’s love, which provides everything we need. As Philippians 4:19 reminds us, God will supply all our needs through Christ Jesus.

At this event, we’ll listen to Christian music, create meaningful gifts, and share in the joy of community.

This drop-by event is the perfect opportunity to invite someone who may be hesitant to attend a longer service or event, allowing them to experience the love of God in a real and tangible way.
