June 30 @ 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Zambia-Iowa Agricultural Partners, a central Iowa non-profit, teaches farmers in Africa how to upgrade production practices. To expand the efforts, ZIAP founders are hosting an exciting dinner fundraiser June 30 in Ankeny, Iowa, and the public is invited.
The Zambia-Iowa Agricultural Partners Dinner Fundraiser kicks off at 5:30 p.m. June 30 with a mixer and entertainment from a nationally-recognized, locally grown country singer.
Nashville songwriter and singer, Robert Deitch, will entertain guests from his albums A Stone’s Throw and One Memory at a Time, featuring original songs, such as Small Town Proud, Shadow of My Steeple and 3 Church 2 Tavern Town. He has seen many of his songs recorded by national artists, and has received awards from Nashville Songwriters Association International for Outstanding Songwriting.
Also on the evening’s program is a familiar name to many Iowans, Dr. Steve Johnson, retired Iowa State University Extension, the keynote speaker. His message, “Iowa Agriculture: Lessons Learned,” will show how ideas and technology from Iowa can apply to Zambia today.
Concluding the evening, Blackmer will highlight his mission trip to Zambia for planting season, sharing, “The ZIAP Story.” Blackmer’s stories of a great challenge and a God who provides, reveal his experiences with Zambian farming and culture.
